Well every graphic designer needs to create a visiting card. It is a must stationary for any kind of business. The goal of creating a good business card is that it must contain all the important details of the business man who own it. Here I am going to make a visiting card for a flower shop. Those who know Photoshop basics can do it very easily. Now I am going to teach you how to design a visiting card in Photoshop in detail.

Step 1

Launch Photoshop. Press {Ctrl+N} for a new document.

Step 2

Here I am creating it in a size of 1088 x638 pixels for demonstration purposes. You can later resize it to your need.

Step 3

It’s good to select an image like this. Open the picture in Photoshop. Select the Flower Vase. Let’s search for a royalty free image of a flower Vase. It is important that we must get only royalty free if not purchasing any images. We can very well get high quality picture for reasonable rates from various stock photo web sites. If you are not interested in it let your self choose another alternative which is a royalty free image. Well let’s continue.

Step 4

Open the picture in Photoshop. Look at the picture below.

Step 5

Now select the white part of the picture carefully with a lasso tool.
You must make the picture transparent because the slight color differences my result in a bad output.

Make it an image with transparent background as above. We can use this image for any artwork related to flower shop in future. So save a copy now separately.

Step 6

Fill white color in new layer and drag below flower vase layer. It will make the image standout a little bit.

You should see the marching ants clearly.
Select Ctrl+A to select and press Ctrl+c to copy the flower vase image. To the base document (reopen the 1088 x638 pixel template) you first created.

Step 7

Ctrl+V to paste the flower vase to it and choose transform tool to make it fit. Arrange it.

Step 8

Transform tool help us to arrange the image as we like with out distortion to the left side of the document as shown in the picture below.

Step 9

Select the background and create a new layer.

Step 10

Use elliptical marquee tool to select oval shape. As shown in the picture. This is an easy way to create a curved shape with out making much fuzz.
Then select inverse from selections palette.

Step 11

Select gradient from the Photoshop palette to create an attractive background.

Fill color using gradient tool and deselect the selection.

Step 12

Select the type tool and type the company name right side of the card.I am using a size 18 font for the font you can use 12. It can be used according to your interest.

Step 13

Type the address on the card as shown above. You can use a small size 10 font for the same.
Now your card is ready to print. Now you can enjoy doing experiments with this.
